Fateh Sagar Lake

In 1989, the connaught dam was built and later the dam was enlarged and renamed as Fateh Sagar lake.
It was originally built to commemorate the visit of Maharana fateh Singh, the Duke of connaught & the queen of Victoria.
This lake has three main islands – one is Nehru Park which is a famous spot within the lake, another is a public park with a water jet fountain and third is an island with the USO (Udaipur SOlar Observatory).
This lake is very famous for many national as well as international events. Every year the two days world music festival is also held here in February month, which is a big draw for all. Music artists from all over the world gather here for the extravaganza.
Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola is an artificial lake created in the year 1362. It was named after nearby village Picholi. It is approx 4 km long and has four small islands: Arsi Villas, Jag Mandir, Lake palace & Mohan Mandir.
At present date, the Lake Palace has been converted into a heritage hotel and a must visit place in Udaipur. “Octopussy” – A well known bond movie was filmed in Lake Palace.
Jaisamand Lake

This is the second largest artificial lake which has also been nicknamed as “Queen of Victory”. It covers an area of almost 87 KM and is very famous among the locals as well as leisure travelers.
There are a few islands on the lake that will help you to move away from the hustle & bustle of the city. The wildlife sanctuary which also falls nearby is worth the visit.
There is a marble dam built across the lake by Maharana Jai Singh which houses the very famous Hawa Mahal Palace.
Udaisagar Lake

This lake is one of the most prominent lakes of Udaipur and it is approx 4 KM long. It was built in 1565 by Maharana Udai Singh and it has served as an integral part of Udaipur since then.
This lake is a heaven for the photographers who love to have picture perfect frames. The soothing water, green hills around and clear sky above!! What else would you want to click a beautiful picture??
Doodh Talai Lake

Located in the heart of Udaipur city, this beautiful lake is 24 KM away from the airport. It has many quality food stalls that grab the attention of tourists as well as the locals. ANother attraction here is camel ride and horse ride.
This small lake is surrounded by the hill locks which offers a spectacular view of lake pichola. One of the hills has the Karni Mata temple which has thousands of devotees visiting there every year.
You don’t need to climb to the top, there is a ropeway upto the karni mata temple from the park lying below. It is at the height of approx 500 meters offering a stunning view of sajjangarh fort, lake pichola and doodh talai lake from the cabin of the ropeway.
